——4 . GOOD RESULTS' ON WEST COAST. " . The good results of the Unemployment Board's subsidy ofco-operative mining on the West Coast were remarked yesterday by the Minister for Mines (the Hon. D. Jones). J Mr .Tones quoted a recent case in Whiph lopd. granted assistance to enable a number of miners near Kumara to work an alluvial mining property on a co-operative basis. The work was carried out under a scheme of rationing. Although it has not yet been completed, eleven miners have already been found . permanent employment operating tho mine, and during the first eight weeks these men have w6n gold to the value of approximately £3OO. As the scheme is developed, it is anticipated that the number of men -employed will increase considerably.
