SERIES OF CRIMES.
THREE YEARS' IMPRISONMENT. (rxiss ASSOCIATION raLBQXAHO AUCKLAND, December 14. Roy George Cudby was sentenced by Mr Justice Smith . to-day on five i charges, including burglary and escaping from custody. Counsel said prisoner had been in hospital'for eye trouble, but by escaping he had deprived himself of the necessary treatment and in conse- , quence had lost the sight of his left oye. Since his escape he had been married, • The Judge said if prisoner, after his marriage, had intended to live honestly he would not have broken out into a burst of crime. A sentence of three years' hard labour, cumulative on his present sentence, was passed.
