TO EDITOR OF TUB TRESS. Sir, —Mr Archibald Hall, whoso obituary appears in to-day's Phess, of past history of Australian coaching. Ho entered the employ of James llevan and Company, who ran a lino of coaches from Melbourne to Beeeliwor'th in 1861, and was one of the few men alive who remembered the late Freeman Cobb (founder of Cobb and Company) in person. After driving the coaches lor sonic years, in Victoria, he came over to New Zealand to take the plane of W. H. Slmpard, who in partnership with Andrew 1011112, ran the coach service between Wellington and New Plymouth. iShepurd died as the result of an accident in 1872, and ft all succeeded him.
