A commercial agreement betwen Brazil and Canada was signed provisionally to-day. It will be submitted to, the Canadian Parliament for approval before it becomes effective. Canadian trade with. The conclusion of the treaty is coincident with the coming into effect of | the new double-column tariff system inBrazil. Previously imports from Brazil entered Canada under the general tariff. The-Treaty is made provisional bocause a treaty of-more permanent char-' acter must have the approval of the Canadian Parliament before becoming effective. At the next session of Parliament a treaty, it is understood, will be submitted giving Brazil the most-fav-oured nation treatment.
