DUNEDIN. [THB PBESS Special Service.} DUNEDIN, December 4. The milling wheat market remains Unchanged. The bulk of the wheat in the district has now been sold, but the stores contain a quantity of undergrade lines. The price for fowl whoat is 5s f.0.b., tacks extra, for good whole down to 4s 8d for lines «f undergrade. The oat market continues to drag, and there is an obsenco of orders from ' any quarter. Local, millers and merchants ia th* North Island are not showing much interest in the market. Although last season's* c&P was a small one, there are still more '"than sufficient oats to meet requirements. In some quarters there hag been pressure to sell in order to make room in the stores for wool, and this has helped to weaken the market farther. A's ar6 quoted at 2s 8d f.o.b, sa., and B's at 4a 6d. The chaff market continues dull, sales being confined to small lots, ex store. The North Illtqd dtpttd is still being net front Blenheim at prices with which this port is unable to compete. Local values ara £4 for trusk lots and SA 10a for smaller lots ex store. There is soma enquiry for old potatoes consequent on recent frost* checking the growth of early potatoes. The demand ts, however, temporary, as the season ia practically flnished. Excepting for a retail demand, there is little business passing in seeds. Orders from ths country to retail sellers are fairly good, but the wholesale demand is quiet. Odd lines are changing hands where retailers have to buy to meet their orders All lines remain firm, with a shortage in tha supPly of some varieties. Th«r« h i firming tendency on account of the dry weather bete* experienced in Canterbury, as it is f<ar«3 that tha lack of moisture may cause a shortage in the coming season.
