Tho Dominion Executive considered the question of a "Maori Badge" for general knowledge of Maori lore and tho correct pronunciation of Nature names and places. It was arranged that District Commissioners would be consulted before the details of the qualifications were decided. Gil well Camp. Applications for the Gilwell Camp are now coming in. Officers who wish to attend must send their applications in before December 7th, accompanied by their camp fee of £2. Group Committee Social.. On Thursday, November 26th, a social gathering of members of group committees met at the Bt. John's Schoolroom. There was an attendance of more than 100 members, some of whom came from as far afield as Ohoka, Little ltiver, aud Rangiora. Commissioner Furby spoke, outlining the training given at tho Gilwell Camp and recommended group committees to arrange for at least one of their officers to attend this course. lie also dealt with camping, giving some valuable suggestions to the audience. Commissioner Trail spoke on the difficulties of securing scouters to take charge of groups. An address was given by myself on the responsibility of the duties of a group committee and the importance of being prepared for the annua] camp. Numbers of questions were asked on subjects relating to Scouting. The debt extinction fund camo in for full discussion and a wish was generally expressed that representatives of group committees should bo placed on the committee.

Headquarters Levy. The headquarters levy was also explained and it was stated that an additional levy would probably be required to supplement district funds. Several questions were asked respecting warrants and it was explained that the present system was to send the warrant to the group secretary for presentation with appropriate ceremony and to inform the officer that this had ueen done. During the evening Scout Cook gave two excellent recitations. Scout and Guide Comer. The- question was asked, Why invitations had not been sent to ail Scouts and Guides to the ceremony when the Dedicated Flag was placed in the Scout and Guide corner? The reply was that this was arranged entirely by Dominion Headquarters who considered that it would be sufficient to invite the Commissioners only on this occasion. Commissioner Furby said that the holding of an annual rally for all Scouts and Guides in the Cathedral on the anniversary of the birthday of the Chief Scout and the Chief Guide was under consideration. D.C.M. Perry and a number of Scouters and Hovers

provided supper, Cambridge Terrace Group. A concert was . given at Durham Street on Wednesday, November 25th, bv the Cambridge Terrace Scouts and Cubs. It was well attended and enthusiastically applauded. The programme included solos, a Grecian dance, dance duos, a recitation, and conjuring as well as plays by Cubs and Scouts and by Cub officers. The first Cub play was a piratical one in three acts in which the whole

pack took part. The second was called the "Flag of Our Country," representing King Alfred, Queen Elizabeth, Nehon, Gordon, and a home scene, the Scott Statue. The Cliief Commissioner and Mrs Fenwick were present. The group finances by this effort will be materially benefited.
