The response to the appeal to the public for share capital to date has exceeded expectations. A telegram has been received by. Cross and Co., Agents in Christchurch, from the Chairman of the Board of Directors, stating that a < steamer has been purchased and fitted' out already for transport of oysters under the new method for the opening of the season early in February next.
