ST. JOHN AMBULANCE BRIGADE.

WORK OP THE WEEK. The St. John Free Ambulanco responded t*j 83 calls during the week, and all but three of these .required transport tq lajspitals. Tho greatest number of ealls received on any onei day in the week was seven, on Thursday, whigh included the transport of a patient, with a compound fracture, from Darfield to the Public Hospital. Ambulance Divisions. The usual weekly meeting of the Christchurch Ambulance Division was held At the JBrjgade roqms on Wednesday evening. There were 20 members on parade, under Superintendent W, Wootton, and on opening the meeting. Mr Wootton moved a vote of condoleneo in sympathy with th? relatives and the Auckland JJrigade.in the sad loss of Corps Officer A. vV. Porter, whqi WB9 billed in accident while attending to a, case, This was carried in silence, members standing. The work of the evening comprised a revision of the annual competitions, and before closing the meeting a vote of thanks was accorded those members who had taken part in the competitions held on Labour Day. Members were reminded of the bridge party, to be held at the Farmers' Co-op tearooms on Monday evening next. • • # * Menders of the ffo. 3 Division met at the Brigade rooms on Thursday evening. There was a good attendance of members, and Superintendent *• Ashworth presided. After inspection and the arrangements for public, duties, instruction was given in bandaging and Splinting. Nursing Divisions. The Haeremai Cadet Division, -Lincoln road, held their meeting as usual in the schoolroom. Mrs Garrard presided, and gave J* very interesting ou home nursing, at the close Of which questions were invjted.
