TIMARU SHOW.

PEOPLE'S DAY ATTRACTS LARGE CROWDS.

FURTHER AWARDS MADE.

People's Day of the Timaru Agricultural and Pastoral Association's sixtysixth exhibition at Smithfield Show Grounds yesterday was a notable success, the fixture being favoured with summer-like weather, with brilliant sunshine. The exhibition attracted almost a record gathering from all parts of South Canterbury. i The crowd displayed the keenest interest in the horse competitions, which were of a uniformly high standard, the jumping in particular commanding attention because of the keenness of the contests in the various classes. The quality of stock and agricultural produce • exhibited was of a particularly high plane and fully maintained the reputation of the district. A feature of the day was the parade of prize-win-ning stock, which formed one of the finest displays seen in the district for a number of years. The trophies were presented by the wife of the president, Mrs T. Seaton, Mr Seaton congratulating the winners upon their successes. ( Though smaller than usual this year the display of industrial exhibits and trade lines was very effective and, attracted considerable interest from the public. The Highland Pipe Band was in attendance and played selections during the day. The Prise List. The following is the continuation oi the prize list:— DRAUGHT HORSES—SECTION I. (Judge: Mr J. H.
