At the Christchurch and Akaroa Regattas the club secured seven firsts, five seconds, and three thirds out of 22 starts —an excellent record, _ which enabled the club again to win the D.C.L. Cup. Five members of the club, G. Rushworth, F. 11. Thompson, C. Stiles, G. Jordan, and A. Andrews, represented the province in the interprovincial eight oar race, held at Dunedin, and won by Otago after a thrilling race, Canterbury being beaten in the last stage of ffie race by a length. The main item of revenue wa3 subscriptions,- and capital expenditure had absorbed more than the amount received from that source. New plant had to be obtained, and because they had struck a ' lean year the balancesheet was not as good as they might wish. Ten years ago when he took the office of treasurer the club was £IQO down, and had £SOO of a mortgage; the £SOO had been wiped off in ten years. - After some discussion of details oi. the balance-sheet the motion was agreed to.
