LINER ON REEF OFF KOREA.
♦ SINKING IN CALM WEATHER. (VKITED PRESS ASSOCIATION—BY BLECTBIC TELEOUAPH—COPTBiaHT.) (Beceivcd September sth, 1.16 a.m.) SHANGHAI, September 4. The Hamburg-Amerika liner Burgenland, 7320 tons, struck the Pokuea reef, off South Korea, this afternoon, en route from Tsingtao to Japan, and is reported to bo sinking. The Japanese freighter Baikal Maru is rushing to the scene. The weather is calm. There are 20 passengers, the majority Shanghai residents, aboard the liner. The holds, which are full of cargo, are flooded.
