BURIED BY FALL OP ROCK.
(MISS ASSOCIATION TELXOBAK) STRATFORD, September 4. R. E. Plews, county foreman, was seriously injured while working in ft quarry on the Manaia road yesterday. His left foot was crushed, and his pelvis fractured, and in addition he suffered internal injuries. An operation was performed, but his condition is still serious. Plews was preparing to put in a blasting shot when the sandstone face of the quarry came down, overwhelm.im\ Some of the boulders were 2ft Gin in diameter, and the workmen had much difficulty in extricating him.
