CITY ORGAN.
RECITAL THIS EVENING. The recital to be given by Dr. Bradshaw on th® City organ this evening at 8 o'clock should make a wide appeal for a very attractive programme has been arranged. Request numbers will include the great Organ Sonata in D Minor by Mendelssohn; the Song Without Words, "Duetto," by tho same composer; "Night in May," by Palmgren, an example of tho modern impressionist' school of composition; and the popular orchestral suite, "Peer Gynt," by Grieg, comprising the four movements, "Morning," '"The Death of Aae," "Anitra's Dance," and "In the Hall of the Mountain King." In addition to the Mendelssohn Sonata, original organ music will be represented by the Choral Song and Fugue of Wesley; Adagio and Scherzo from the Fourth Symphony by Widor; Funeral March and Hymn of Seraphs (Guilmant); Fantasie Rustique (Un Souvenir Nuptiale), Wolstenholme; and the Bell Rondo by Morandi. In the last two of these works opportunity will be taken for the presentation of picturesque bell effects combined with the organ tones. Transcriptions will include the Prelude to the Third Act of "Lohengrin" for full orchestra (Wagner); Eastern Romance (Rimsky-Korsakoff); Variations for tho Pianoforte on tho old English melody "Where the Bee Suckß," by Sir Julius Benedict, which allows effective use of tho harp stop; and the Minuet and Serenade (tenor solo) from the opera "Pagliacci," by Leoncavallo, in which the Vox Humana stop finds a place. Tickets are obtainable, at the Bristol, where the box plan is now open. Concessions are offered to students attending colleges and schools. Intending patrons are advised to. book seats, as a large attendance is anticipated. Doors will be opened at 7.30 p.m.
