THE PLAZA.
"BACHELOR APARTMENT." Lowell Sherman, who with each appearance become* increasingly popular, is said to give his finest performance in "Bachelor Apartment," which commences to-day a<; the Plaza. In "The Royal Bed" the star had a smart, witty role, but according to reports it is as nothing compared with tha part he plays in the new picture. A critio said that the story might have easily been written by Frederick Lonsdale or Ben Travera, so smart and witty are the situations and the dialogue. If this is so then the story _ must be ideally suited for Sherman, as it is doubtful if there is another actor who could carry the polished, satirical role better. "'Bachelor Apartment" is a story of a man who managed to avoid the matrimonial market for a long time and regarded all women as snares. When he found the right one the situation became ircreasingly difficult through misunderstandings over his earlier amours. Mae Murray, Irene Dunne, and a big cast are in support of the star in a picture which should be a bright piece of entertainment.
