ITALIAN COAST MYSTERY.
(tfKITED PRESS ASSOCIATION—B* ELECTRIC TELEGRAPH —COPYRIGHT*) (Received September 4th, 7 p.m.) PARIS, September 8. The 'police have concluded that .theyoung French dress designer, Henrietta ' Caravaniez, was the victim of a storm afT sea. The tracing of the money and - jewels has dispelled "suspicions of foul play. A message l'rom Paris on August 28th said :"The mystery deepens concerning the fate of the young French dress designer, Henrietta Caravaniez, whose body,: clad only in an undervest, was found in a rubber and canvas canoe off the Italian coasf near Spezia. The assumption was that she: was murdered. She left Monaco in a fragile craft in ; the company of Alain Sabouraud, son l of a Paris surgeon. Their announced intentipn was to sail along the French and Italian coasts and then make Corsica. - Mademoiselle was then dressed in beach pyjamas and a leather jacket. The craft was later found near Spezia. There is no news of Sabouraud. ' "It was first thought that the boat had drifted till the provisions were exhausted, when the man fell overboard. and, in despair, the girl cpm- " mitted suicide. "The next theory was that the man had shot the girl to save suffering, and had himself committed suicide. The latest suggestion from Spezia is that the • girl's body was tied" with ropes to the stern of the canoe, and, moreover, five days' provisions remained."
