MOCK COURT SOCIAL. Aa enjoyable social was held in the Methodist Schoolroom on Tuesday evening, when a Mock Court was acted by the members of the Bible Class, five different people being charged with various quaint offences. The east was as follows:—Clerk of Court, Mr G. Westbrooke; senior-sergeant, Mr A. McDowell; lawyer, Mr P. Woods; reporter, Mr 0. Silcock; constables: Messrs E. King and It. Connollyj traffic inspector, Mr E. Coburn; ranger, Mr M. Shrimptou; judge, Mr W. Connolly. Items were contributed by Mrs Watt' (song), Mrs Stevens (song), and Miss Mae Kelly (piano), who also acted as accompanist. Competitions were won by Miss E. King and Mr Neil "Watkink, Mr W. Connolly w;as M.C.' -

! . Annual Meeting. The annual meeting the; H«ttEcote Methodist Young Woiaeri's BibleClaea was held in the classroom on Monday; evening. The Be v. A. T. Kent was in the chair. The annual report and balance-sheet, which was read and adopted, showed the class' to be' in a very satisfactory .condition. The following waff the result of the election of officers:—Leader, Miss Edna King; deputy-leader, Mrs Harvey; secretary, Miss Benee Connolly; treasurer, Miss Ada Cogle; organist, Miss- Owen Silcock; social committee: Misses Elvie King, Ngaire Watkins, Eenee Connolly, and Mary Various .suggestions for class improvement were discussed. ; Schoolßasketball. , The local basketball team journeyed to Lyttelton and played a competition match with the Lyttelton teim. Heathcote won by 9 to 5, and Miss Hodgson was referee. ■ .On Monday the Heatheote girls werevisited by the Burwood team, and a friendly match was played,. resulting in a win for Burwood by 14" to 13. - <
