Strong views on the subject of widows' weeds we're expressed bV Mr Alfred Baylis, of Croydon, Surrey, who died in March. Mr Baylis had "tho greatest objection" to mourning, and especially to "the style of dress at one time universally worn by widows." In his will Mr Baylis directed that his funeral should be as simple as possible, that no mourning should be worn, and that any money that would in the ordinary way bo spent on wreaths should be sent to tho Croydon Hospital, Mr Bayha left £11,610*
