COALFIELDS DISPUTE.
ALL MINES WORKING
tSrECIAI. TO THE PRESS.)
WESTPORT, July 29.*
When the three hundred -men at the Stockton mine resume' work to-morrow there will not be an idle mine on the West Coast or in the .Buller, unless, there is an unexpected stoppage. - Stockton was the only mine idle today, the men being ongaged for part of the day in discussiiig what attitude they were to adopt in farthering the fight against tho tribute and co-opera-tive miners. Apparently they decided to fall into lino with the other unions, the members of which returned to their mines to-day, and will work to-morrbw. It is not known whether the miners have been able to arjango the proposed conference between representatives of the Seamen's Union, Watorsiders' Union, and tho.miners' representatives at Wellington, at which, it is stated, tho miners intend to ask tho seamen to support them in their fight against the tributcrs. So far not one of tho Miners' Union representatives has left Westport for Wellington, and it is surmised by one mine official in close ttfucli with the position that negotiations for the conference have failed.
