The rector and'churchwardens of BarthoJottiew-the-Grcat in West Smithfield, England, are applying to the'-Consistory Court tor a faculty to remove the headstones and monuments in the ancient, churchyard. "The gloomy arid depressing churchyard ' s being converted into, a Garden of Sleep and Rest," explained the rector, Canon E. .S.'Savage. "There is a plan to beautify it to dispel gloom.
