CENTENARY SHOW.

GREAT SCOTTISH EXHIBITION. ; REPRESENTATION PROM NEW ZEALAND SOUGHT. A letter lifts been received by the Canterbury A. and P. Association asking it to attend the Highland and Agricultural Society ofScotland's 100 th Show to be held in Edinburgh from June 23rd to J"uno 26th,1931.. The matter of appointing as a representative a member who ; would bo visiting Scotland at that time was; left in "the hands of the president, vicepresident and secretary. Members were agreed that, if possible, a representative in close touch with thp. work of the association should be appointed. The following paragraph concerning the show is taken from a Scottish' journal: — . . - , > Interest in the Centenary Show of the Highland and Agricultural Society, | to be held in Edinburgh on June 23rd i and following days, is already beginning to quicken. As is now generally known, the Show is to be attended by the Prince of Wales, and as the King and Queen are shortly afterwards to be in residence, at. Holy rood House, Edinburgh is likely to be the most centre in the country at the irheight of the summer. The. Highland Show bids fair to be. a memorable one. ;'Tlie prize money, £9540, is 50 per cent, /higher than hitherto. The keenest ■competition is inevitable, and great rivalry is anticipated for the numerous (championship medals which .the Prince of Wales is offering, for the Corporation 's Gold Challenge Cup, and the .many gold medals offered -by the Society. It is gratifying to know that the Show is likely to be the gathering ground for agriculturists from all parts' of the world, and parties are being organised in the Dominions, especially, Canada, the representatives of which, according to present arrangements, are to have the "freedom of the Show.''
