The following resolutions were' passed:— "This combined meeting of 'the Farmers' "Union ' and Dairy Fanners' Union strenuously protests/against the action of the Board 'of Agriculture in | requesting the removal' of the 'hfestric- j , tions on, tho importation of stock from Great Britain, theroby' leaving New Zealand liable to' foot-and-mouth disease, also pointing out that the Board asked for the restrictions |ast year averring | that no disease had broken out for two 1 years, whereas'' three fresh cases had ■ .been proclaimed that ,time." / | '<That a State lottery' to assist Hos- : pital Boards be conducted, provided it can be introduced without jeopardis- | ing the present system of finance."
