Detectives who in all the States have covered thousands of miles searching for the murderer of Menu Griffiths, aged twelve, at Bentleigli near Melbourne, to-day arrested in Sydney, Robert MeMahon, aged 36, a labourer, on a provisional warrant from Victoria, charging him with the murder of the girl, who was outraged before death. [Foully done to death after being outraged, the body of a twelve-yeur-old girl was found in an empty honsp at Bentleigh, with a gag knotted tightly round the face. Death was apparently due to suffocation. The girl's companions saw her leave the playground with a mar., whom they described ;o the police. A Melbourne message of November 3rd said the police had detained and questioned a man in connexion with the murder of the girl. Tho crime had aroused public feeling as no other had done for many years.]
