WEST CHRISTCHURCH SCHOOL.
PARENTS AND TEACHERS MEET. The first steps towards the formation of a West Cliristehurch District High School Parent-Teachers' Association wort) taken last evening, when a meeting of about 150 parents and teachei-s gathered at the school. The headmaster (Mr L. IT. do Berry) ( who presided, addressed the meeting. fj e spoke of the ideals of the school, and outlined a number of suggestions for improvements in the work next year. There was not yet a junior high school in Cliristehurch, but at West Christchurch it was hoped next year to commence a junioi high school course. ICurly in 1931 the new wing of the school would bo completed, Mr de Berry stated He proposed that conjointly with the opening ceremony a monster fete should be held It might ], O advisable tha.t a committee be formed to assist the School Committee in planning this function. The meeting accordingly elected a committee of sixteen It was decided that the committee should meet on Monday night next, when an executive could be elected. _ At the conclusion of the meeting a vote of thanks to Mr de Berry was carried bv acclamation.
