YESTERDAY'S TRANSACTIONS. There was a good volume of business on call yesterday with the bulk of the turnover iti a few of the more popular stocks. Bank of Aust. 350 Bank of New Zealand 400 Goldsbrough, Mort 300 N.Z. Guarantee Corpn. 100 Christchurch Gas (10s paid) 250 New Zealand Breweries (ex div.) 100 Tooths Brewery 100 British Tobacco (cum div.) 500 Mt. Lyell (cum div.) 1400 Mahakipawa Goldfields 1000 Winding Creek (9d paid). New Zealand Government 4J per cent, tax free stock, due 1938, changed hands at £9B 10s, and the 5J per cent. Bonds, due 1933, at £99 17s 6d. Commercial Bank of Australia shares had dealings at 16s 2d, 16s Id, and l.Gs. 3d, market closing 16s Id sellers, 16s buyers. Bank of New Zealand shares were easier with dealings at prices ranging from 52s 6d to 52s 3d, and there were further sellers at 52s 3d. buvers at 52s 2d. Union Bank of Australia shares weakened to £9 5s sellers, £9 2s 6d buyers. Miscellaneous. Hoklsbrough, Morts dropped to 20s, and 19s 9d, following an announcement that no interim dividend would be paid this month, and there were further sellers at 19s lOd, buyers at 19s od. New Zealand Guarantee Corporation shaves were steady at 7s, sellers staying in at that figure, buyers at 6s lid. Christchurch Gas 10s paid shares realised 12s—the fully pa ids appeared stronger with buyers at 255. sellers at 25s- 3d. New Zealand Breweries shares ex dividend had dealings at 425. 41s lOd, and 41s 9d, and more were offered at 41s 7d, buyers at 41s 3d. Tooths Brewery shares were fractionally weaker at 23s lOd. British Tobaccos remained at 30s 2d. market closing 30s buyers, 30s 6d sellers Mt. Lyells wore_ released at 20s 3d. 20s 4<l. and 20s 7d, closing quotations 20s 3d buyers. 20s 4d sellers. Mahakipawa Goldfields shares were easier with dealings at 8d and 7}d. market closing 7d buyers, 8d sellers.
