Australian Bank of Commerce shares were firmer with dealings at 19s 9d, market closing 19s 3d buyers, '2os sellers. Bank of Australasia shares show an easing, with sellers at £ll, no buyers. Commercial Bank of Australia shares were firm, with business at 17s 7d and 17s 6d, sellers staying in at the higher price, buyers at 17s sd. English, Scottish, and Australian Bank shares had dealings* at £5 9a 6d, market closing £5 2s 6d buyers, £5 10s sellers. Bank of New South Wales buyers reduced their offers to £32 7s 6d, sellers asking £32 17s od. Bank of New Zealand shares, cum dividend, changed hands at 56s lid and 575, market closing Id on either side of the lower figure. Miscellaneous. Sellers of Standard Insurance shares eased to 51s 6d, buyers at 48s. Dalgety and Company shares show an easing, with sellers and business nt £8 9s, buyers at £8 7s. Goldshrough. Morts dropped to business at 23s Id on the morning call and 22s 6d on the after■rin call, market closing 22s buyers. 23s sellers. Buyers of P and O. deferred stock ruised their bids at 41s, hut sellers were firm at 4£>s. Grey Vallev Collieries were weaker, with buyers at 13s 6d. sellers at 20s 6d. Christchurch Gas fully paid shares were fractionally weaker with dealings at 2os Id, tlosing quotations 24s lid buyers, 25s 2d tellers. Carlton Brewery shares advanced to dealings at 245, market closing 23s 9d buyers. 25s sellers. New Zealand Breweries' shares had dealings nt 465. 43s lOil. 46s 3d. and 4.5s 6d, closing quotations 45s 3d buyers. 45s 6d sellers. A late sale on the 18th instant of Tooths Brewery shares was reported at 255. and there was further business to-day at tho same figure, market closing 24s buyers, 25s sellers. British Tooacco shares were easier, with dealings at 34s on the morning call, and at 345, 33s Id, and 33s on the afternoon call, closing quotes 33s sellers, 32s 9d buyers. Colonial Sugar shares changed hands

at £34 17s 6d, buyers staying in at £34, sellers at £.15. Mt. Lyells weakened to dealings at 21s 2d and 20s 2dj sellers staying; in at the lower price, buyers at 20a.
