Probably the only example of a sale being effected by wireless in the IX>minion occurred recently through the medium of wireless communication between Oamaru and the Ellice Islands in the Pacific. Mrs D. G. Kennedy, of Oamaru, is one of three women amateur wireless transmitters in the Dominion, and each evening communicates bv morse with her husband, the only white man stationed at the Ellice Islands. During one -of the communications the name of the Oamaru representative of a -well-known musical nrm in Dunedin was introduced. Mr Kennedy thereupon intimated that an organ was required for the natives on the islands, and quotations and descriptions were communicated by morse_ by Mrs Kennedy, with a result that m due course acceptance of the quotation and _ instructions for shipping were received by wireless. It is safe to say that this Its the onlv instance of a sale being completed between New Zealand and a resident of the _ Pacific island without a letter passing.—Press Servic».
