YESTERDAY'S TRANSACTIONS. There ivas a good volume of business on. call yesterday and prices. on the whole were firm. Transactions, exclusive of vestibule business, included: 1200 Comm. Bank of Australia. 20 Comm. Bank of Australia (pre?.). 50 Bank of New Zealand (cum dir.). 700 Goldsbrough, Mort. 80 Christchurch Gas. 100 Christchurch Gas (10s paid;. 100 Tooths Brewery. 200 Australian Glass (cum dir. S Colonial Sugar. 100 Mt. Lyell (cum div.V 3300 Mahakipawa Goldfields. 200 Okarito. Commercial Bank of Australia shares had dealings at 17s 7d and 17s Bd, market closing 17s 7d buyers, 17s Sd sellers —the preference realised £6 10s, closing quotes: £6 9s 6d buyers, £6 lis sellers. Bank of New Zealand cum dividend were firm at 5Cs 9d, and there were further buyers at 56s 6d, sellers at 57s 3d. Buyers of Bank of New South Wales moved up to £32 10s. sellers at £34 12s 6d. Miscellaneous. Goldsbrough, Morts had dea.lingn at prices ranging from 23s 7Jd to 23s 4d, closing at 23s sd, .ind further sellers at 23s 3d, buyers at 23s 4d. Tiiere was a closer market for Huddart, Parkers, which were quoted at 24s 10d buyers, 25a Gd sellors. Christchurch Gas realised 25s 2d, sellers staying in at that figure, buyers at 24:3 lOd- —the 10s paid shares were firm at; 12s Gd and more were wanted at that price, sellers at 12s 7d. Tooths Brewery shares were released at 255, market closing 25s sellers, 24s lid buyers. Australian Glass shares cum dividend were easier with dealings at 27s 6d, and further sellers at 28s sd, buyers at 27s 3d. British Tobaccos relapsed to 343 7d sellers, 34s 6d buyers. Colonial Sugars changed hands at £34 12s fid. Mt. Lyells realised 23s Id, but closed weaker with sellers at 21s 6d, buyers at 23s 3d.
