The Budapest correspondent of the "Daily Express" says there is a sen-.-:atioual report that the Archduke •Mbreeht has decided to divorce his beautiful wife. On November 13th Kine Charles issued a letter of abdication, and on November 16th, 1918, Hungary was proclaimed an independent Republic. The two Houses of the Legislature were abolished, and their place taken by a Provisional National Council. Tlie Karol.vi regime continued ■ iTilii March 21st-, 1919. when its place was (alien by a Soviet Government, which proclaimed the dictatorship of the proletariat. An opposition Government was however, hoon set up at Arad and Szeged, which with the I'siiistanee ci' the Rumanian Army swept auay the Soviet Government, and on Angu.-t 7th, 1910. a National Government was n.u;a!n in the Capital Klections were held on the basis ol universal suffrage in January and Felv ruary. 1920, and the new Parliament considered the period of the revolutions of 1918 and 1910 as tie jure a blank space of time and resolved that the old monarchical constitution should be continued. Hungary was thus con Sidered a monarchy with n vacant throne, the functions of the monarch being exercised by a IJegent. It has been decided that the dynastic question shall be solved at such time as the people arc freed from external pressure. 1 ]
