Two receivers of deers' tails in connexion with the steps being taken to reduce the deer menace in the South Island, bnvo been appointed lor the North Canterbury Acclimatisation Society's district. One is Mr J. O'Brien, custodian of the Government Departmental Buildings, Christchurch, and the other is the Forest Ranger, State Forest Service, Hnnmer Springs. Two shillings i? to be paid for each deer tail and the same amount for the tails of chamois and thar. When the tails have been counted, and a receipt civen for them, they will be destroyed. 7'lie receivers are not compelled to nrcept tails which reach them in « pntrefyinn; condition. GARDEN HOSE.
