CITY STATUS.

To mark the attainment by Palmerston North of the status of a city, celebrations are being held throughout this week, together with the New Zealand and Empire industries week Special window displays are being made by the shops, while various amusements have been arranged. There i« a business men's luncheon to-day, and an old identities' gathering.
