MR OSCAR GARDEN.
PROPOSED WELCOME TO CHRISTCHURCH, The remarkable accomplishment of Mr Oscar Garden, the New Zealander, who recently completed a solo flight from England to Australia, will in all probability be recognised when he arrives m Christchurch, by a public welcome at the YVigram Aerodrome. The Canterbury Progress League and the Canterbury Aero Club propose to unite in the welcome, and if suitable arrangements can be made, and Mr Garden flies down from ellington, it will take place when the aviator reaches Christchurch. Although nothing can be officially done before word is .received from Mr Garden, it is hoped that he may delay his' arrival in Christchurch until Saturday week. He is due in Wellington next Tuesday and as it would be more convenient for the welcome to be given on a Saturday, an at tempt will be made to arrange this The Aero Club may alp arrange for some sort of an exhibition of flving at the Aerodrome, and it has been suggested that a charge should lie made for entrance the proceeds to be given to Mr Garden.
