It was noted that in many instances the stock for exhibition at Addington arrived in motor-lorries and was taken awav bv the same vehicles. In one instance stock from as far south as Waimate was so conveyed. It cannot be said justly that the adoption of motor transport is due to heavy charges oil the railway, as stock for exhibition at shows is carried back freight free. The thief reason for the adoption of motor traffic is the tact that the stock can be cnnveve-J straight from the farm to the show, rhui avoiding the delay of being driven to the farm from the nearest railway station. That this means of transport is growing in favour is evidenced by the fact that the show authorities probably will be called upon to consider the question of providing a special entrance for lorries conveying stock.
