BAND CONCERT.
One orthe biggest crowds ever seen at the Band Rotunda in Poplar crescent assembled lest evening to hear the fourth and last concert by the Wools ton Band, organised by Scnth Isiand Motors,. Limited. In addition • to the concert, musical items were broadcast to the crowd trom the company's office. Ascand; descriptive, "In a Monastery Garden" (Ketelby) ; march, ' •Organic fScott) r sketch, "Swannee Biver" {KyadlMon;; waits, "Bleepy Valley" (Terise) ; . cjjrtar*, "Mirello" (Gounod); march,. "Jlephistopheles" (Douglas). The'results of the judging competition were announced. - Earlier in the week a car TPaa jacked up. and the engine started. Competitors were required to cuesa the number of miles registered on the speedometer when the car was stopped last <*oßwlS» ; ■ distance covered was 1876,5 miles. Sub' ject to the rules of the competition having been complied with, the results we: Mra R. E. Whitley (1877 mile*) and M. W. Gotigh (1377 miles) equal 1, and 'B. I/awson and A. H. Ellis (1876 miles) equal 3.
