THIEF CAPTURED.
ROBBERY IN A STORE. By the prompt action of Mr E. J. Amos, a thief who broke into general store, of Mr T. V. Gwyn, in North Avon road yesterday afternpon was caught, and after a scuffle, handed over to the police. The thief forced the bathroom window, and then broke the lock of a dqor leading to the shop, which is in the front part of the house. Mr Amos, who lives opposite, noticed the man lurking about, and knowing th4t Mr Gwyn's house was empty for the afternoon, accosted the trial} as he was leaving. The thief attempted r to break away, bat another man caxne along, ana assisted Mr Ajpog to hold him until the police arrived. Some cigarettes and a small amoitnt of cash only were taken, and have been recovered.
