AVellington—Although the weather was again variable yesterday, it was an ihi* prcvement on. the preceding day. Showers in the morning were succeeded by sunshine until the late afternoon, when thft skies again clouded over. The wind was from the north. Dunedin —The weather w.:s fine in the orsrly part of yesterday ffiorripj, but dull and overcast for the remaiiider of the day, with a fresh wind from the north-east. The maximum temperature was 63 degrees. The barometer is still low, but fairly steady, the reading last evening being 29.30. Forecast. Genera] Situation —A deep depression now covers the Tasman Sea. the centre line being near to the south-west extremity of New Zealand. Barometers are rising over east ern Australia.
Winds —Strong northerly winds to gains, backing later to west' and eouth-west in the far south. Seas (N.Z. Waters) —Rather rough generally ■i'iisman. Sea —Strong northerly winds in the Eastern Tasman, backing to west' and south-west in about 24 hours; seas rough. Weather —Becoming unsettled generally, with some rain, temperatures mild, but becoming sooler in the iar south in the morning; unsettled weather probable during the week-end. DOMINION REPORTS.
