Andr<s Riroue, poet, dramatist, and dramatic critic, who died the other dky, was an editor of the "Revo® de Paris,'' and dramatic critic of "I/JEcho d© Paris" and "Le Temps." His first play was produced in 1881, and wm unmercifully flayed by the critic*.. la writing of Sarcey's review of it, Rivoire said: - ■ "He tore me to pieces without pity, and bo completely and eo well that I shortlv received a letter from my family in the country saying that if. piay-writing was my. only reason for staying in Paris I might as 1 itrell oostte home now as late*."
