S\ Tolmie, .has announced that American financial interests, headed byMr Samuel Hill, the pioneer north-west road builder, has offered to construct a highway from the United States boundary through British Columbia to Alaska, at a cost o£ 20,000,000 dollars, 1 in return for hotel concessions along i the route and a percentage of tho petrol i tax piaid on the highway. 1 After the cost of construction has 1 been returned to the buildets, the road ) will be given to the province without j any cost.
