BECKENHAM SCHOOL COMMITTEE.
The monthly meeting of the Beckenham School Committee" was held on Monday. Present: Messrs S. R. Evison (chairman), H C. Campbell,-J. W. Harris, F. H. Mintrom, A. Purvis, J. H. Shier, W H. Smith, and P. M. Velvin. The headmaster's report stated that the average attendance for the month was 96.1, with a roll number of 512.9. A letter was received protesting at the long absence of the dental nurse from tho school. It was decided to endorse the protest and to forward the letter to the Director of Dental Hygiene, also advising the Somerfield and Opawa committees of the action taken. The entertainments committee reported that the children's fancy dress party had been very successful, and- it was agreed to hold a similar function in the school grounds on December 13th. A largre rumber of parents accepted the invitation to visit the 6chool on Parents' Day. The Beckenham quartette had agreed to appear at the school concert on November 27th. It was agreed to open the swimming baths on Monday next, and to call a public meeting for tho purpose of forming a swimming' ©lut>.
