FROCKS AT THE TROTTING COURSE.

The weather was beautiful yesterday when the Metropolitan Trotting Club's Meeting opened at Addington, and consequently tho frocking was particularly attractive. As on the previous oay at Kiecarton, patterned frocks were tho prime favourites, and many beautiful chiffon and ninon frocks, made very long, and worn with wide-brimmed hats, were very effective, while printed crepe oj chines and satins maintained their popularity, and wool crepes and wool georgettes established themselves more iirmly as suitable mediums for suits and ensembles.

Many doubting Thomases, and their feminine counterparts, distrustful of tho smiling morn, remained faithful to tho ever-serviceable tailored suit, and their lack of faith was justified late in the afternoon when the wind grew stronger and turned cold.
