Visitors to. the West Coast beach near Dargaville report that thousands of toheroas are lying dead for several miles along tho beach. Old frequenters of the beach are unable to explain tho cause, and the fear has bee- expressed that Bome disease has copie among the shellfish. There are dead toheroas for several miles tm both sides of the usual camping places at and Maule'a Gorges.
