Charles Edwin Smith, aged eight, was peverely burned this morning through {his clothing catching fire when he was blaying with fireworks near a gas stove. His mother, in beating the fir© out, Had her arms burned. Both were sent to hospital, but Mrs Smith was able to return home after receiving treatment. EXTENSIVE SCALDS. (raess association txlkgbam.) BOTORUA, November 3. William Reynolds, aged 42, was badly •scalded through falling into, a Hot spring at Ohinemutu on Friday evening. Joseph Cunningham, a farmer, of /Croydon, aged 70, died in the Gore (Hospital yesterday as a result of injuries received in a. level crossing accident at Gore on October 28th. _ Cunmingham, a widower, leaves a family of ,seven children, the eldest being 20 'years of age.
