LARGER WICKETS.
ADOPTION FAVOURED. The- larger wickets adopted a season ago in English cricket, and to be tried out in Auslr.-ilia this year, may be used for Plunket Shield and provincial' cricket in Canterbury during the coming teason. This was decided on, prao, tically without- discussion, at tlie - annua) meeting of' delegates to the Canterbury Cricket Association on Saturday evening. A letter was received from the New Zealaud Cricket Council asking for the Association's opinion on the adoption of the larger wicket* lor,.shield and provincial games. In favouring the nroposal the chairman (Mr D. Reese) remarked that in view of tlie tour of the' New Zealand team to England in the nc-xt season it would be wise to become used to playing under English conditions. Tne Management Committee had decided to recommend the use of the larger -wickets. He understood that a couple of sets were-already in Christchurch. :
