Amended regulations as to licenses to fish for Atlantic salmolt salar) in the Southland acclimatisation district »ro gazetted, The period from May Ist to September 30th is declared to be a close season, during which no persou bhall take or have in his possession any Atlantic salmon, or the young or spawn thereof. During the open season in respect of the Upu 4 - kokorora and a portion of Lake To Anau (described), it is declared unlawful to fish for Atlantic salmon except with artificial fiv; and no person shall take or catch more than three Atlantic salmon in any ona day. During the month of October it is unlawful for any person to fish for Atlantic salmon from a boat of any description. Any person committing a breach or tlie regulations is liable to a fine ot £SO. Born in Sydney, in 1839, Mr Thomas McCoy died at Blacktown, New South Wales, recently, Despite his 91 years, Mr McCoy was active and vigorous until a few days before his death. Mr McCoy joinod the Masonic Order 67 years ago, and was said to have had the longest unbroken period in the craft of any Mason in New South Wales. \ former > stntionmaster.
