The condition of Major-General Sir Neville Howse, who recently underwent an operation, is unchanged and still critical. [Sir Neville Howse has had a distinguished career. He won the V.C. in South Africa in 1900 and was created K.C.B. in 1917; K.C.MT.G. in 1919, and C.B. in 1915. He is a noted surgeon, being a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons... (London Hospital). He has held many important political appointments in "the Australian Parliament, including Minister for Health and Repatriation, and also for Defence and for Home and Territories. • He is a-mem-ber of the House of Representatives in. the Australian Parliament. During the war he was one' of he "hush, husli" figures in Australian military circles.]
