Mrs Simpson-was elected delegate to' "the Convention, and the -following agreed to attend:—Tuesday, Mrs C. Smith; Wednesday,- Mrs Merrin; Thursday, Mrs Bond. • The nest meeting is to be "Maori Day" and is to be. followed by "Cradle Roll Day," for which members are asked to bring suggestions. Social. There was a largo attendance at the fortnightly; social and dance at' the Waimairi School. Music for the dancing was supplied by Campbell's Orchestra. The lucky spot waltz was won by Miss G.. Dalley and Mr Charlesworth, and. the Monte Carlo one-step, by - Mrs Fantliam and Mr Spiers. -Other prizewinners wero Mesdames Watson, Radford, .and Neilson, and Mr Oxenham. Mr -E. Ransley was M.C. Bowling and Tennis. At a meeting of the executive committee of tho Papanui Bowling, Tennis, and Croquet Club, the Rev. W. H. Orbell presided. Others present were: —Messrs J. Kettle, A.. Banks, -W. A. Wilson, C. Smith, Bond, : A. B. Chester, E. Gibson, Moore, J. Hadley, and R. G. Morrison. It was reported that tho tennis courts had been put in order. Opening day was fixed for October 4th. Methodist Affairs. Last Sunday foreign mission Services were, held at' the Methodißt Church.
