ST. ALBANS CLUB. The St. Albans Cricket Club held its annual meoting last night, Mr C. S. Thompson presiding over a large attendance. The annual report stated that' Hugby Park had been offered to the club. The ground might not be ready this season, but it would be in good order for 1031-32. The club would benefit considerably by a home ground. The club finished fourth for the_ Peterson Shield competition, scoring 108 i points. The first grade team finished seventh in the Canterbury Cricket Association's competition, the second grade A Team fourth, and the second grade B Team second. The competition results, with the exception of two second grade teams, were considered very disappointing, but a good club spirit bad been maintained. The year was commenced with a heavy handicap, consisting of a debit of about £9O. but by strict economy this year it had been reduced by half. MARIST CLUB. At the annual meeting of the M&rist Cricket Club the annual report and balancesheet were read and adopted. The finances of the club were reported to be very satisfactory, the balance-sheet showing a credit of £1 0s 6d. The club had a very satisfactory season from a plnying point of view. The three teams entered in the Suburban Association competitions all finished in good positions in the various grades. . It was decided to enter four teams in the Suburban competitions. . ELLESMERE SUB-ASSOCIATION. Tho annual meeting of the Ellesmere Cricket Sub-Association was held in the Irwell school, Mr W. U. Reunie, a vice-president, occupying the chair in the absence of the president, Mr G. W. R. Osborne. The other delegates present were Messrs H. Smith (Doyleston), L. B. Coe, J. Coe (Irwell), £l. Sail, C. lteid (Springston), Patterson, Atkinson (Lincoln College), Skinner, Doubleday (Dunsandel), Jibert, Abbott (Southbridge), Marshall, and liumpton (Weedons). The report stated that the result ot last year's competition had been in doubt until tha last series of matches. The winners were ( Bpringston, with 24 points, followed by Taj Tupu with 2a, Doyleston with 22, and '< Irwell with 21. The game against Canterbury Colts, at Doyleston. on Labour Doyi had resulted in a draw. The shield match againßt Malvern had resulted in a decisive win fir Malvern "by 10 wickets. It was decided that the match against Canterbury Colts, on Labour Day, should I be played at Doyleston. , Mr Skinner enquired whether it would be ! possible for the Sub-Association to do anything towards fostering cricket in the schools, in order that pupils would be able to fill the club teams later. - The meeting approved of the proposal, and committees were appointed to interview tho headmasters of schools op the Ellesmere and Springs sides of the Selwyn river to discuss with them the practicability of the scheme. The Tai Tapu Club wrote giving notice of motion that all matches should be played for fwo days, and that only one round should be played. As the Tai Tapu delegates were not present, the secretary formally moved the resolution. The College deleg&tes stated that their club was in favour' of the proposal, but the other clubs opposed it. The motion was lost by a big majority.

IRWELL CLUR At the annual meeting. of the Irwell Cricket Club Mr h. B. Coe presided. The secretary presented the report showing that the club had had a successful year. The club was £6 4s Id in credit. The following officers were elected:—Patron, Hon. Sir R. Heaton Rhodes, president, Mr John Heslop, sen.; vice-presi-dents, Messrs H. O. Gardiner, A. T. Coe again offered the club the use of his ground, and also offered a bat for competition. The bat presented by Mr Coe lost year was won by N. Heslop.
