A Punjab Government report scathingly criticises the. general administration of the muniipalitios of Punjab, particularly Lahore, Rawalpindi, and Ainbala. Pears, Chief Commissioner of the Frontier Province, expressing appro iation of the services rendered by those concerned in the defensive operations, including the officers and men of the regular forces, and the military and Royal Air Force, the members of the political staff of the Kurrag Agency, and the inhabitants of the valley, for the manner in which, their duties were performed in the face of difficulty and danger. A special word is given to the village levies, who gallantlv co-operated with tho Crown forces One year's revenue has been remitted to the inhabitants, of tho valley, and a gratuity of one month's p-iy given to all ranks engaged in the defensive operations.
