DIAMOND CLAIMS DAMAGES. (Received September Bth, 7 p.m.) BERLIN, September 8. Jack Diamond's solicitors have commenced an action against the Prussian Government for damages for unlawful detention and injury to his reputation and credit. STONES FROM BUCKINGHAM PALACE. Rich Americans are early competing to secure part of the original stonework of Buckingham Palace, principally the flooring, over which so many Royalties have walked, but which now is in bad repair, and is being replaced by artificial stone. The Duke of Buckingham built the palace in IG7O. "MADEMOISELLE FROM ARMENTIERES." PARIS. September.7. Allegedly the original "Mademoiselle from Armentieres," Mile. Laure Vallanquet was found dead at La Chapelle d'Armentieres. She was a beautiful young woman in 1914. and was the. centre of attraction in the little village in which she lived as a refugee.
