Tho American yacht Enfcerprisq and Sir Thomas Lipton's Shamrock V. will sail on Saturday from Newport for the first race in the America's Cup contests. The tremendous interest taken m the event may be gauged by the fact that railway and steamship companies are arranging for a fleet of floating grandstands such as have never been seen before. The change in the regulations, by which the yacht first over the finishing line wins the race, barring fouls, has stimulated popular sorting interest. The races for the cup are to lie sailed off Newport, Rhode Island, not far north of New York. The starting point will bo a buoy fixed nine milea south-east of Brcnton Reef lightship, and triangular and windward and looward courses, each 30 miles in length, will be soiled on alternate days, beginning with a windward and leeward race on Saturday.
