A scries of thefts lately occurred in Stanley, Wiltshire, and the criminal was at last run to earth. Mr Walter Lewis, a farmer, has a private letter-box on his land, and when he is out of stamp* he leaves money with the unstamped letters in the box. Time after time the postman found unstamped letters but no stamp money. A watch was kept, and a tomtit was caught. He had accumulated ninopence. Now his nestegg has gone.
